Lunel Day 1
The 8th International Festival Mandolines de Lunel opened last night. Here are a few photos.

At the reception before the concerts, there were speeches and speeches. Then there were music. The godfathers, Mike Marshall and Hamilton de Holanda did a short set.

Eva Scow (mandolin) and Mike Taylor (guitar) were the first to play on stage. Michel Benita (bass) was sitting in for the entire show. Despite dull stage lighting and too many empty seats, the great musicians managed to get the concert off the ground with heart warming jazz.

Väsen, Mikael Marin (viola), Olov Johansson (nyckelharpa) and Roger Tallroth (12-string guitar), plays Swedish folk music with an attitude. After a few tunes, they were joined by Mike Marshall. Some big eyes were spotted in the audience.
